About SmokePatrol

Welcome!

SmokePatrol is a public benefit project providing online resources to people who volunteer in different ways, both literal and figurative, to put out all kinds of fires for other people in their communities.

The SmokePatrol name was inspired by work on a forest fire lookout tower in Lake County, California, an old book entitled “Smoke Patrol” about early firefighters and the origin story of Smokey, a bear cub orphaned in a forest fire who became famous as a fire prevention icon.
